Chasing Nanyuki Vibes: Road trip to the most insane movie night (Kenya’s best?) 🎥 🍿 🔥

Have you ever felt like you just need to drop everything and chase a vibe?

That’s exactly what the Walk Adventures crew did. We packed up and headed to Nanyuki for an insane midnight movie night. It was less of a “trip” and more of a core memory in the making.

Here’s the lowdown on the ultimate Nanyuki road trip.

The Road to Nanyuki

We kicked things off in Nakuru at 10:00 AM. A quick prayer, a full tank, and we were off.

But you can’t just drive straight to Nanyuki. You have to earn the view. Our first stop? The Subukia Viewpoint.

Standing there, looking at the Great Rift Valley stretching out forever… It’s the kind of sight that just makes everyone go quiet. Nature really is the best artist.

Next up was Nyahururu to see the iconic Thomson’s Falls. The roar of the water and that cold mist hitting your face in the afternoon sun? Absolute magic.

Nanyuki Nights & Midnight Vibes

By the time we rolled into Nanyuki, the sun was checking out. But we weren’t.

First order of business: Nyama Choma. You can’t visit Nanyuki and skip the sizzling roasted meat on the outskirts of town. We shared stories, laughed way too loudly, and fueled up for the main event.

We finally reached Esiankiki Resort for the “Midnight Vibes” event.

The plan was an outdoor movie garden, but a little drizzle in Nanyuki moved us indoors. Honestly? It made it even better. Think:

  • Ambient lighting
  • Comfy mattresses everywhere
  • Soft music
  • Duvets and warm clothes

We settled in for a three-movie marathon, broken up by karaoke and dancing. Some of us made it to the final credits, while others drifted off after movie number two, tucked in and totally content.

Day Two: Hidden Gems

Morning came with soft sunshine. We spent some time exploring Esiankiki Resort—they’ve got a heated pool, a gym, and these really calm spaces that make us want to move in forever.

After a solid breakfast in town, we hit our last major stop: Bantu Mountain Lodge.

This place is tucked deep in the forest. It feels like a secret. We did the canopy walk with a river flowing right beside us. It’s peaceful, green, and exactly what the soul needs.

We even squeezed in some horse riding and a trip to the crocodile park before calling it a day.

The Verdict

Nanyuki always delivers. Whether it’s the thrill of the road, the taste of the meat, or the peace of the forest, it’s a place that carves its name into your story.

If you’re looking for your next escape, this is it.
